Honey is a sweet, viscous food substance made by honey bees . Bees produce honey from the sugary secretions of plants (floral nectar) and store honey in hexagonal wax structures called honeycombs.

Humans have loved honey since the Stone Age. Rock art pictures of honey harvesting, date to about 8000 B.C. Beeswax has been found on pottery dating as far back as 7000 B.C., most likely used for waterproofing.
